The Story Behind the Wood

Kim carving wood

Meet Kim

Kim's journey into wood artistry began in 2020 when heavy freezes caused trees to topple on her property. Rather than seeing fallen trees as debris, Kim saw them as an opportunity for creation and transformation.

What started as a way to make use of fallen timber soon blossomed into a passionate pursuit of three distinct but complementary crafts: chainsaw carving, wood turning, and pyrography (wood burning).

Today, Kim creates custom pieces that celebrate the natural beauty of wood while showcasing her artistic vision. Each piece tells a story – of the tree it once was, and the new life it has been given through her craftsmanship.

The Artisan's Journey

Since 2020, Kim has been transforming fallen trees into beautiful works of art. What began as a response to the heavy freezes that toppled trees on her property has evolved into a passionate artistic pursuit.

Her work spans three complementary crafts: chainsaw carving for larger sculptures, wood turning for creating functional art like bowls and vases, and wood burning (pyrography) for adding intricate details and designs to her pieces.
